Got a Secret. Can Ya Keep It?

I just couldn't help myself with the post title. I thought it fit quite nicely with it being the middle of PLL season and the topic of this post of course. None other than my blog obsession with The Sorority Secrets. Being a retired sorority gal myself, I was tickled pink (or rather, azure blue and white for my ADPi ladies) to stumble upon it this week. 

It's frilly, feminine and full of juicy secrets you know you wanted to find out. Even though the site is relatively new, judging by their substantial following, I'm guessing they're the next big thing. Check out cute categories like "campus catwalk," "chapter room [style]," and "secret steals." 

Wana know the best part? They're currently paired with Erin Condren for a giveaway! If that isn't a match made in heaven, I don't know what is. Definitely adding this site to my favorites (and my list of blogs to follow, conveniently located in my Erin Condren planner).

There's no denying the power of a Doritos Locos taco from Taco Bell (in fact, I broke my near decade of not eating there for one...it's that good). Beautiful Creatures

I've never been much to jump of a movie fad (while I am, however, addicted to television fads. ahem, PLL). I pride myself on escaping the hype behind Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Twilight, and zombie shows, but I'm afraid I've been Claimed. Let me explain myself.

As an unashamed lover of movie previews, I found myself transfixed by the trailers for Beautiful Creatures. I know nothing about the books or storyline, but think I'm gonna be jumping on the claimed train, I eagerly anticipate finding out whether Lena will be claimed for the dark or the light (I not-so-secrtely love things about both sides).

Being raised in the South, I have a tendency to stamp my seal of approval (monogram) on anything that's stationary, but I'm particularly fond of nameplate and monogram jewelry. 

To my delight, there's a new twist on a classic staple courtesy of Ariel Gordon Jewlery, and it has won a spot on my next wish list (especially considering the price tag).

Lily Lovin

Some may be aware of just. how. much. I love blogs, but while it may seem like I post too much about it... I've barely even skimmed the surface. My latest love (found through another fav, Inslee Haynes blog) is Lily Says Go--chic, simple, and fashion-forward. Lily proves that fashionistas don't have to hail cabs on 5th Avenue to (or drive in shiny black sedans) to make a statement. Hailing from the mid-west, she puts her spin on totally adorable ensembles daily. Without further adieu, Lily Marek.

Pumpkin Muffin Recipe

You asked, I'm answering.

 The coveted recipe for the famous pumpkin muffins:

Ingredients:

-one box of spice cake mix

-one package of cinnamon chips (like chocolate morsels, but cinnamon)

-one can of pumpkin

-1/3 cup water

Mix all ingredients together until combined and scoop into greased muffin pan. Both mini and normal sized muffins work. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes depending on your oven and taste preference. I lean toward the low side to ensure gooey-ness. 

Let cool, and enjoy!

Para, Para, Paradise

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to score a coveted place on the South Walton press tour for the 30A Songwriter's Festival. It was a crazy whirlwind of venues, artists, and amazing food, but I'd say the bar is set pretty darn high for any other press trips in the future. Look for a story about traveling in South Walton in the March issue of Memphis magazine, but here are some highlights.

 I must admit that I'm arguably too obsessed with the royal family (and the new bambino/s), considering their reign doesn't technically effect my life in any major way (except for hi, hello eventually marrying Prince Harry), but I just don't care (I mean, it's the diamond jubilee for goodness sake!). 

I may or may not have stayed up all night (wearing a paper crown) in the ADPi house to watch Will and Kate's (ahem, William and Catherine, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's), wedding even though I could've just woken up at 5, but hey, I was making memories (and annoying Mere), right?

I digress, but here is the officially official new painting, fresh off the easel, of the duchess. What'd ya think?

Do what you love

So sorry about neglecting to post basically ever over the lovely Christmas holiday. Mine was fabulous, and I hope yours was the same. I'm officially back in the saddle again, and CMi has hit the ground running to say the least. Quarter one will boast a record number of publications including special issues, CEO of the year, Power Players, dining guide, and much much more. All that to say, I'm "busier than a one-armed paper hanger" (Truvy from Steel Magnolias). Thankfully, I love my job; so, I guess it isn't really work. Please forgive me if I don't post as frequently in the upcoming weeks...
