Flower Power

It's no secret I have a crush on Drew Barrymore. She's the epitome of a carefree, happy-go-lucky chick who is open about her past and optimistic about her future. All admirable traits.

Among her accolades are being born into an uber famous Hollywood family, getting her big break in E.T., Charlie's Angels, being my favorite Cover Girl, and being hilariously funny in general. She also has a line of wine, a handsome hubby, a cutie daughter and a bebe on the way. So just when you thought she couldn't get any cooler... she goes and creates a make up line--Flower Beauty (of which I am now obsessed).

Now, I already knew about her line, because my mind weirdly only absorbs and retains knowledge of the celebrity nature, but an instagram from Nikki Reed about how fabulous the make up made me take the plunge. Nikki Reed is a new-found celeb obsession of mine I'll address at a later date, I'm sure. Nevertheless, the winter weather has brought with it the return of my "vanilla" skin-tone, and I figured, as long as I was buying new make up... I might as well try cheaper first.

Lo and behold the Flower Tinted Moisturizer, which I'm currently wearing (along with cream blush and berry lip butter). It's seriously amazeballs. And for only $10, I broke my ban of never venturing into Wal Mart again.

So if you're in the market for new beauty goodies, I highly recommend Flower. And basically anything Drew puts her stamp of approval on.

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

Worthy Words of Wisdom

God made a very obvious choice when he made me voluptuous; why would I go against what he decided for me? My limbs work, so I’m not going to complain about the way my body is shaped.
Drew Barrymore

Thanks to Bekah for these encouraging words on a rough Monday back in the reality.

*sidenote, I'm obsessed with Drew almost as much as I am Katy Perry. Congrats on bebe #2.

Celeb Concoctions

SAw news about Kenny Chesney debuting his own brand of rum, and since owning a wine label is a dream of mine, it struck a nerve.

Kenny is not the first celeb to brew his own libations, not by a long shot. The list is long and filled with impressive names from every genre and palate, I'm sure.  Here are the ones I'm aware of (which means I'm sure many other exist).

1) Kenny Chesney's Blue Chair Bay Rum

2) Drew Barrymore's "Barrymore Pinot Grigio"

3) Justin Timberlake's 901 Tequila

4) Brad and Angie's Miraval rosé
5) Willie Nelson's Old Whiskey River Bourbon

8) Dave Matthew's The Dreaming Tree wines

9) Train's "Drops of Jupiter" wine (this is not a joke)

I'm curious to see if these mixtures are actually tasty or just fueled by brand awareness/celeb status. Guess I'll just have to try them all, budget allowing, and report back. It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.

miles to go

It's true; I do. Lately, I've been bitten by the "travel bug", and I must admit, I fear the side effects are permanent.

They come in many shapes and sizes, but the most recent effects include the overwhelming desire to travel outside the good ole U.S. of A.

The thoughts that have been bouncing around this zany, curly head of mine are as follows:
- I could totally see myself being a travel journalist: going all sorts of places, interviewing people, and taking photographs--all while exploring and site seeing for myself.

[This was listed in the "things no one knows" about Drew Barrymore in this month's InStyle magazine-- I always knew Drew and I were kindred spirits]

-I would also love to go on a/multiple mission trip(s). Yes, I said it. My summer at WMU did actually rub off on me, and I've been thinking more and more about working with kids and showing them the love of Christ.

[scary, but it could be totally cool, right?]

[Always thought this would be the.most.fun.adventure.ever.]
[see...I'm not a total scared-y cat]

I have no clue where this passion for travel will lead me as of yet, but I'm excited to find out. Either way, I know that everything happens for a reason; so, whether I travel for missions opportunities or my own personal agenda, I know I will, God willing, eventually board a jet plane and take off toward my future.

'til then I leave you with this happy quote from Drew Barrymore in the same InStyle issue previously cited {further proof that we are kindred spirits}...

you said it sister
