We Crave a Different Kind of Buzz

This weekend was the much anticipated TNB reunion in Atlanta. The problem? No matter how late we stay up, how early we rise, or how many heart to hearts we share -- it's just never enough time.

This whirlwind of a weekend included but was not limited to:
-2 airport pick ups
-3 gals driving after work
-1 planning session of saving dates for Kels and Ash's big days
-7 girls catching up on the last 6 months-worth of happenings
-seeing 2 sparkling engagement rings "in the flesh"
-1 bottle of red wine
-1 batch of pumpkin muffins
-2 hours of the Katy Perry movie
-infinity selfies
-7 Yeah Burgers
-2 haircuts from Clairebear
-6 ($14 a piece) tequila shots at Alma Cocina
-1 "Sex on the Beach" shot (instead of tequila)
-(uncounted) vodka tonics an The Ivy Buckhead
-1 Georgia football win
-2 hours of watching The Breakfast Club
-2 airport drop offs
-3 commutes back home

ONE. AMAZING. WEEKEND.

So, while we may not be royal (yet), we do crave reunions with our besties.

Happy (reunion) Friday, Folks!

In a few short hours, I'll board a plane bound for Atlanta to reunite with my besties for the first time since Memorial Day--to say I'm excited is an understatement.

But, in MC fashion, Fridays mean fun posts to usher in the weekend (see here, here, here, and here). I give you: Honey Boo Boo's family dressed as the Kardashians.

TNB Look-Alikes

I'm am a firm believer that there is an Inslee Haynes illustration for every mood, occasion, and time of year; so, why would a beach reunion be any different?! (see here, here or here for proof of my infatuation with Inslee)

I'm beyond obsessed, and since I can't afford to commission a custom one for myself (much less my besties), although I'd love to, this will suffice. I've found the best of the best to depict our personalities. Ladies and gents, I present to you, my besties in illustration form:

First, we have the lovely Ashley, who unfortunately can't join us on our trip, but she is no less loved. She'll be soaking up the rays in SoFla with her main squeeze and her precious nephew.

Next, we have the wannabe twins, Kelsey and Mere. Seriously, it's freaky how often people mistake them for twinkies. That said, they both have impeccable style and will most definitely be sharing clothes on the trip.

 

Next up is my fellow Tennessean and our hair dresser extraordinaire, Claire. The top knot and ray bans sealed the deal for this image as you, my dear.

 

For my leetle baboosh {Erin} things got tricky... there were a number that reminded me of you but it took some finesse to find the most perfect one. For the baby-lovin, stylishly put-together nanny of the year, I give you, EZ-E. (note: bebe not included for reunion)

 

Last but not least, myself. Since my gurl Inslee doesn't make too many with curly hair, I was limited, but I think it works (key factors were my vanilla skin tone, crazy hair, Mary Poppins bag, and large cup of java to go).

Homecoming Reunion

This past weekend, my friends (minus Ashley) migrated to Birmingham from our various locations to join forces for another weekend for the books. This group of girls is seriously my lifeline, and while I might be slightly biased, I believe our fabulous combination of personalities forms a group that is greater than the sum of its parts (aka: we're awesome individually, but better together).

Wish I had more pictures from the weekend as proof but some of my favorite moments include:

• ERMAHGAWD FANCER FERST (click here for visual--at 3 a.m. it was the best thing since sliced bread)

• idea for Jayne ("gen-chem") to engineer a bridge through Georgia and only make Mere pay the toll (like the kayak commercial)

• wanting to go to Tin Roof to "be seen" not see people (the girl who said this shall remain anonymous)

• Emms Bemms figuring out that she has the most authoritative/sobering "HEY!" in the entire world

• the "buddy system" at its finest only to be completely destroyed the very next night

• Ez figuring out a name for our hypothetical start-up magazine of our make believe career future

• Kelsey and Mere knocking heads laughing at Cracker Barrel

• Witnessing Claire finding guys that like her "Style"

• being called Taylor Swift in the same weekend that I sang her songs without cease

• Ushering in a new half-decade with Kathy

• Bekah's and my kindred spirit love of Purple Onion
