Happy Halloween!

It's only fitting to use this post to take a short walk down memory lane. You might not be lucky enough to know my good friend Kesley Farese, but if you are, you know she's a rare breed. Very few people in my life have ever made me laugh so hard at absolutely insane things (like straightening my hair, prank calling her mom from upstairs with Mr. Rogers soundboard, or looking at each other in disbelief after Lauren tried to convince us Titus tried to kill her in her sleep). Our friendship goes way back, but many memorable moments have been Halloween nights... she was even there that Halloween when I got my first car.

 {circa 2006...I decided it best not to include more photos from this glorious stage}

These days, Kelsey Camp is living among the bright lights of Hollywood in the City of Angels, but she still finds time to provide me with a good laugh every now and again specifically via her YouTube channel with her equally hilarious counterpart Taylor Stephens.

As it is Halloween, and I'm remembering that ill-fated night we tried to roll high school boys and Bethany stubbed her toe, I bring you an episode of "Hot Tub Topics." Enjoy...

Divine Design

Lately my graphic design side has been slowly taking over my very editorially-minded brain starting with the resign of my blog fo free (yes I meant to leave out the "r"). I stumbled upon the Sullivan Branding website while looking for contacts for MBQ Power Players, and it was love at first sight.

Besides their cute bios and staff pictures, the site is super easy to navigate and look at their portfolio of work, such as:

But don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself.

There's No Crying on Halloween

Told ya I was gonna be the very best Katy Perry I could be at the annual Halloween party, and now you can be the judge...
 It's all in the details....

Doppelgänger Day

The dictionary defines doppelgänger as "German for an apparition or double of a living person." There was a big craze where you could put a picture of yourself into an application and it generated your celeb doppelgänger. I was never really into it, probably because I was mildly terrified of who they would say I resembled. I'm one of those people (aka all girls) who chooses to believe I look better in person than in photographs.

Nevertheless, I seem to have gotten the "hey you kinda look like __________" more recently. Maybe it's because I'm around people who didn't see me every day for four years or maybe I give off the "hey, come talk to me vibe" (yea, okay, we all know that's not it considering I was once told to smile more by a middle school teacher... but that's a story for another time). So, for those of you curious, here is who people say I look like.

1) Taylor Swift (let's be real... it's for the hair, but I do love her)

 2) Erika Christensen (most know her as the psycho from Swimfan)

I personally don't see it (any of it), and if I do at all... I mainly (manely ..haha couldn't help myself) think it's the hair. People are weirdly fascinated by my hair in a creepy want to touch it kind of way (much like a pregnant person... to which I'm sure everyone will agree... STOP. It's weird. Ask first.).

What do you think?
And who are your doppelgängers?

Style Savvy part 3

First off, happy birthday to my style savvy icon of the day (click here for part 1 and here for part 2), Katy Perry. Secondly, the time has come (the walrus said) to share with those of you who don't already know, that she is my inspiration for Halloween (timed it pretty perfectly if I say so myself, considering my Halloween party is in two days).
So, without further adieu, Katy Perry:

 Sorry, I'm not sorry, because very few people can pull of being this kooky, crazy, sexy, spontaneous, glittery, or fun,
but she manages to make it seem easy.
 {let's face it, we all make mistakes. and might I just say...his loss}

 {only my close friends/Sean will appreciate this picture as much as I do because it/her love of McDonalds (even though, I know EZ and Mere, it's gross and unhealthy) proves that we're kindred spirits}

The photos speak for themselves. Any gal that doesn't
take herself too seriously and enjoys weird nail

Celeb Politics

Cha, Cha, Cha, Check it out. For the most part I'm avoiding the insanity that is an election year, but I stumbled upon this, and personally though it was pretty cool and interesting. Us Weekly's list of 43 celebrities and their political affiliations.

Taste of the Town recap

Told ya I'd update you after the Germantown Taste of the Town, and here's my proof. Aside from sampling and judging the tasty snacks from over 38 booths, there was a live auction (including special guest appearances from U of M basketball coaches Josh Pastner and Melissa McFerrin), a silent auction, entertainment, and select wine and beverage donors (including Fireball, a Todd fav).

 {loved getting to hang out with Em and Ben while I "worked"}

 {they even got their picture taken for Germantown magazine :)}

 {As a judge, I was paired with a U of M Hospitality Management student to aid me in my scoring. Mine, Kiva Tabor, was the absolute best, considering she's an aspiring foodie who's already traveled to Italy and New Orleans to study culinary art. Watch out for this one to one day open a restaurant in Memphis with a unique fresh feel.}

 {Even got to hang out with some of Memphis' elite, Coach Josh Pastner (U of M men's basketball coach for those of you living under a rock) and mighty cute elite if I do say so myself...}

{Last but not least, the reason I went, to "work." It was a tough job, but someone had to do it. Other judges included radio personality Karen Perrin}

Overall, a top night, and I'd highly recommend attending next year!
